2017 SPRING ART SHOW and SALE
Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park March 4 - 5, 2017
CITRUS WATERCOLOR SOCIETY SHOW AND SALE
The Citrus Watercolor Society will be holding its annual Arts in the Park exhibit and sale in the Visitor Center featuring the artwork of local watercolorists. Originals, prints and cards will be available for purchase. The Citrus Watercolor Society donates 20% of sales from the show to the Friends of Homosassa Springs Wildlife Park. There is no charge to attend the exhibit. Regular park admission will apply for entrance in to the Wildlife Park.
The show is open to current CWS members and is free. You do not have to sign up or register... just show up with a smile! We do need an INVENTORY LIST of your work in the show. Click on the sidebar link to get a copy of Inventory List. There will be a sign-up sheet for volunteers to help at the desk during the Show.Artists are asked to please identify EACH item with 1) Name of painting (if applicable), 2) Item number as listed on inventory sheet, 3) PRICE, and 4) Artist's name. Without this information sales are very difficult.
When you arrive Saturday morning there will be tables set up for cards and small items and racks for hanging paintings. You may bring your own browse boxes and easels.. we'll try to make room for everything without blocking the park's exhibits.
We will start with a limit of 2 hanging paintings, two browse boxes and unlimited cards and small table items. Bring more... if there is room we can use them.
This is a juried show with CASH and ribbon awards: $100 for Best of Show, $50 for First Place, $25 for Second Place, and $20 for Third Place. All others get a ribbon only. If you wish to have up to two hanging paintings judged, there is a $5 fee. Participation is not mandatory. You will be given a sticker to put on your work so the judge knows which paintings to consider. Judging will begin at 9:30 AM Saturday, so make sure you are there.
All work must be water based: no oil, pastel, colored pencil, photography, etc. Acrylic is OK. All work must be that of the artist. Reproductions, giclees, etc. are acceptable but MUST BE LABELED AS SUCH. Cards are fine; they do not require an individual inventroy number but pricing should be clear.
We do keep a close watch on all the work, but inventory sheet should be signed that the artist understands neither CWS nor the park is responsible for their artwork.
Artists can set up from 8:00-9:00 AM Saturday and take down after 4:00 PM Sunday in the foyer of the main building on Highway 19 in Homosassa Springs. It is open to the public 9:00 AM-5:30 PM Saturday and 9:00 AM-4:00 PM on Sunday.
20% of all sales will be donated directly to the park. Money will be collected by CWS volunteers and turned over to the club treasurer, who will then mail checks to individual artists. SASE is appreciated.
Come join us for a fun weekend!
